TEMPLE-FILLERS

As we age, the fat and collagen in our face start to diminish, which can cause our temples to become excessively hollow and result in a more aged and tired appearance.

Furthermore loss of volume in the temples can also lead to the dropping of the tail of the eyebrow and a tiredness around the eyes

Temple filler is an expert treatment that involves injecting dermal fillers into the temples to restore lost volume and create a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

By using hyaluronic acid fillers, we can achieve a natural, refreshed contour to the temple which can help to harmonise the whole face as well as rejuvenate the eye area.

Typically temple fillers are performed as part of a full-face rejuvenation approach, the results are immediate and the benefits can last anywhere from 9 to 24 months depending upon the individual.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Treatments with facial fillers (also referred to as dermal fillers) are a great way to restore lost volume, shape and definition. By truly understanding the detailed anatomy of the face and the changes that effect us with age, we are able to expertly inject facial fillers to reverse volume loss and add definition to create an overall more youthful appearance.
In younger individuals, facial fillers can be used to add natural-looking contouring and shape in a way that harmonises the face and creates a more classically attractive result.

Facial fillers are a copy of a naturally occurring substance (hyaluronic acid) that normally lies within the skin and helps to keep the skin hydrated and healthy looking. As the face ages, as well as undergoing changes to the skin, we also experience loss of volume in the deep fat layer and the bones of the face as well. This combined effect leads to loss of support and sagging of facial tissues which makes the face look tired with more prominent shadows and grooves that we associated with an older appearance. By expertly injecting hyaluronic acid fillers into the anatomical areas of volume loss, we are able to reverse the effect of these changes and as a result create an overall more rejuvenated, naturally-looking face.

Before carrying out the procedure we apply an anaesthetic cream onto the surface of the skin/lip to numb the area and reduce any pain. Depending upon the treatment, we then either use fine needles or blunt cannulas to expertly inject the hyaluronic acid fillers. Whilst particular treatments areas may be more sensitive i.e. the lips and tip of the nose, the majority of filler treatments can be tolerated with minimal discomfort. Furthermore, the majority of facial fillers will contain local anaesthetics, thus making the treatment even more comfortable.

As with any injectable treatment there are potential (albeit rare) risks that are associated with injection of hyaluronic acid fillers (compression/blockage of a blood vessel and blindness) these will be thoroughly explained to you during your consultation. These risks can be minimised by having an expert knowledge of the facia anatomy and latest injection techniques. Hyaluronic acid facial fillers are used by our experts as this allows the desired results to be achieved but importantly the use of a substance that occurs naturally in the skin, means that the risk of reaction is extremely low and also we are able to dissolve the product in the rare occurrence of a serious complication.
